Synopsis of War of the Worlds
A group of astronomers picks up a signal coming from another star. It is the first proof that intelligent life exists beyond Earth, and the world wonders what will happen when the next message arrives. The answer comes sooner than expected. Set in contemporary United Kingdom and France, the series is a new adaptation of War of the Worlds, the H. G. Wells novel, and stars Gabriel Byrne and Léa Drucker. It was created by Howard Overman and airs on Canal+. Within days, humanity is reduced to isolated groups surviving on a strangely empty planet.
