Synopsis of Raised by Wolves

Mother and Father are two androids tasked with raising human children on Kepler-22b, a planet they reach after Earth is destroyed in a great war between Mithraists and atheists. Their goal is to found a new peaceful civilization based on atheist values. Mother wants Campion, one of the children, to someday lead the atheist collective. However, the colony begins to thrive, and religious differences threaten it with the arrival of the Mithraists. Created by Aaron Guzikowski and streaming on HBO Max, the series stars Amanda Collin and Abubakar Salim, who bring the two androids to life. Both will discover that controlling human beliefs is a difficult and dangerous task.

Trivia about Raised by Wolves

After the cancellation, Abubakar Salim, Niamh Algar, and Winta McGrath asked fans for support, and a social media campaign called "Save Raised by Wolves" grew out of it.

The series was filmed in the Western Cape province of South Africa, with scenes in Springfontein, Somerset West, Stellenbosch, and Cape Town.

In January 2023, it was announced that the series would arrive on The Roku Channel and Tubi after leaving HBO Max in December 2022.

An official companion podcast, produced by iHeartRadio and featuring Aaron Guzikowski, was announced to accompany the series premiere.

The second season earned a 86% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with an average of 7.9/10 based on 14 reviews.

Executive producer David W. Zucker said in 2026 that the team was ready to make a third season, but the change in leadership after the WarnerMedia and Discovery merger shelved the project.
