Synopsis of 3 Body Problem

The series follows Ye Wenjie, a Chinese astrophysicist who witnesses her father's death during a struggle session in the Cultural Revolution. Because of her scientific background, the authorities send her to a secret military base, where she works during the Cold War against other countries to achieve first contact with an extraterrestrial civilization. In the present day, the action moves to London and Oxford, where a group of young scientists, the "Oxford Five," begin to suspect that something abnormal is happening in their field. Intelligence officer Da Shi investigates a series of mysterious deaths among researchers in the UK. Created by David Benioff, D. B. Weiss and Alexander Woo, the series streams on Netflix and features Benedict Wong, Liam Cunningham and Eiza González in its cast.
