Synopsis of What If...?
What If...? is an animated anthology series created by A.C. Bradley for Disney+, narrated by Jeffrey Wright. Its starting point is the multiverse that opens at the end of the first season of Loki. A Watcher, a member of an alien race that observes the universe, travels through alternate timelines in which key moments of the Marvel Cinematic Universe unfold differently. Their task is to watch, narrate each story and record how events change when a piece of the past is altered. Each episode begins with a specific twist and follows its consequences in a world of its own. Many actors from the films reprise their roles, although some characters have new voices. The tone of each story can be darker or lighter than the films it draws from.
