Trivia about Star Wars: Skeleton Crew

Watts first considered a movie after the release of Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), but his commitments to Marvel Studios delayed the project until he settled on the television series format.

Robert Timothy Smith performed several takes as Neel, and artist Kacie Borrowman imitated them with an animatronic head so the team could choose which one to use in the final edit.

Mick Giacchino, son of Michael Giacchino, composed the score. The main theme is built on a simple sequence of chords for harps and synthesizers.

David Lowery included a member of the teek species from the TV movie Ewoks: The Battle for Endor (1985) in his episode, created with a puppet.

The series features about 3,200 visual effects shots, divided roughly equally among the StageCraft LED volume, studio sets and a backlot.

Industrial Light & Magic built At Attin virtually in Unreal Engine so directors could explore its locations through virtual reality before filming.

The full-scale set of At Attin could be turned completely around and featured hallways up to 45 meters long, designed so the child leads could run during scenes.

DNEG created approximately 150 shots for the series, focusing mainly on the environments of At Achrann and The Mint, featured in episodes four, seven and eight.
