Synopsis of Obi-Wan Kenobi

Ten years after the fall of the Jedi Order and the rise of the Galactic Empire, Obi-Wan Kenobi lives in hiding on Tatooine under the name Ben. From a distance, he keeps watch over young Luke Skywalker, while carrying the weight of having lost his former apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who is now the fearsome Darth Vader. His quiet life is shattered when the Inquisitors, Jedi hunters in the service of the Empire, kidnap Princess Leia Organa. To rescue her, Obi-Wan must leave his hideout and face an enemy he knows all too well. Produced by Lucasfilm for Disney+ and starring Ewan McGregor, the series follows a master who has lost his faith and must decide whether to get involved in the fight once again.

Trivia about Obi-Wan Kenobi

The project began as a spin-off movie written by Hossein Amini and directed by Stephen Daldry. After the commercial failure of Solo: A Star Wars Story, it was reworked into a limited series.
Kathleen Kennedy was not satisfied with the scripts, which reportedly had a storyline similar to The Mandalorian. That forced production to be halted in January 2020.
Filming began in Los Angeles using the StageCraft video wall technology and wrapped up in September. The series was shot almost entirely in that city.
Natalie Holt composed the original score, while John Williams wrote a new main theme for Kenobi, which William Ross adapted for several scenes.
Darth Vader's voice was created using James Earl Jones's voice, but his lines in the series were generated with an artificial intelligence program called Respeecher.
Daiyu, a new planet created for the series, was compared by Joby Harold to Hong Kong because of its nightlife filled with graffiti.
"Obi-Wan Kenobi" won the 2022 Saturn Award for Best Limited Series on Streaming and took home five other awards, in addition to 30 nominations.
