Synopsis of Amazing Stories

Amazing Stories is an American television anthology that revives the series of the same name from 1985, created by Steven Spielberg. The current production is by Apple TV, where it streams, and Spielberg is credited as executive producer along with Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz. Each episode tells a different story about ordinary people who stumble into extraordinary situations. The stated goal is to take viewers into worlds of wonder through the eyes of filmmakers, directors and writers with great imagination. The series relies on wonder and surprise as the driving force of each episode, without depending on a continuous plot that links one episode to the next.

Trivia about Amazing Stories

The series takes its name from the first science fiction magazine, launched in 1926 and published in various formats for decades.

The series was nominated for a Saturn Award in 2021 for Best Presentation on Television with Fewer Than Ten Episodes.

Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, the creators of Once Upon a Time, joined the production as executive producers and showrunners on May 22, 2018.

In 2015, NBC was developing a reboot of the anthology series, and Bryan Fuller was expected to write the pilot episode.

Bryan Fuller left the project during development over creative differences and was replaced by Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, who led the series through its premiere.

Robert Forster played his last on-screen role in an episode of the series, filmed before his death in October 2019.

Filming began in Georgia in November 2018 and moved through locations such as Atlanta, Forsyth, Griffin, a Dobbins Air Force Base, and the Starlight Drive-In.

Apple released all five episodes of the first season on March 6, 2020, instead of releasing them weekly.
