Synopsis of Goosebumps

Goosebumps is an anthology horror series aimed at kids and teens. Each episode starts from scratch, with no narrator linking the stories, and follows preteens and teenagers who encounter supernatural scenarios. Everyday objects become the threat: Halloween masks, scarecrows, unsettling gadgets. The horror can show up at school, at home or in the neighborhood, and the main characters must face what lurks in everyday life. The series, based on the novels by R. L. Stine, aired on YTV between 1995 and 1998, and Stine himself appears as host in some episodes.

Trivia about Goosebumps

Fox was set to premiere the series right after The Simpsons' Halloween special, Treehouse of Horror, in the fall 1995 lineup.
It was shot mainly in Ontario, Canada, using historic houses and properties in Toronto and Markham as sets, instead of building artificial sets.
Ron Stefaniuk kept many of the animatronic props in his own studio after the series was canceled.
Some of its VHS tapes were among the best-selling children's videos in November 1998.
During the 1998 Halloween campaign with General Mills, the series was promoted on 10 million cereal boxes, with coupons for candies such as Fruit Roll-Ups and Gushers.
The series produced 74 episodes across four seasons, according to the original production records of FOX Kids.
"The Haunted Mask," which premiered as a double episode on October 27, 1995, was the franchise's first television story.
The series received two nominations from the Directors Guild of America Awards and one win and one nomination from the Writers Guild of America Awards.
