Trivia about Goosebumps

The producers of the 2015 movie approached Rob Letterman in 2020, in the middle of the pandemic, with the idea of making a TV series based on the books.

At Letterman's insistence, the series went all in on practical effects, which, according to him, made its scariest elements feel grounded and real.

Stoller and Letterman planned a physical cameo for R.L. Stine, but it was scrapped due to his unavailability, so Stine ended up voicing a podcast host instead.

In the United States, the series became the third most-watched show across all platforms during the week of October 16 to 22, 2023.

The series received nineteen nominations for the Emmy Awards for children's and family programming across its two seasons.

Rotten Tomatoes gave it an approval rating of 75%, with an average score of 6.8/10, based on 36 critic reviews.

Disney+ canceled the series on August 7, 2025, after two seasons.

The second season changed its cast, setting, and mystery, and premiered under the title "Goosebumps: The Vanishing" on January 10, 2025; David Schwimmer led the new cast.
