Synopsis of F is for Family

Frank Murphy, a gruff, blunt Korean War veteran, works as a baggage handler at Rustvale Airport, a fictional town in Pennsylvania. He lives there with his wife, Sue, who wants to start her own business, and their children Kevin, Bill and Maureen. The story is set in 1973 and follows an Irish-American family trying to get by in a suburb marked by discontent and old-fashioned ways. Kevin dreams of becoming a musician and spends much of his day with his electric guitar, Bill tries to survive a life where nobody takes him seriously, and Maureen gets into trouble because of her scientific curiosity. Frank, not one for tender words, struggles to keep order at home while everyone goes their own way. The series is a comedy about a dysfunctional family facing its own failings.
