Synopsis of Creepshow

The horror anthology series, created by Greg Nicotero and airing on Shudder, features The Creep, a character who shares dark, gloomy horror stories drawn from the pages of the Creepshow comic books with viewers. Each story captures the tone of the comics from the first film and is interspersed with occasional ads for horror products. The stories cover demons, ghosts, vampires, werewolves and zombies, and each episode features two of them. The main cast includes Carey Jones and Giancarlo Esposito, and the show keeps the spirit of the original anthology, in which the Creep narrates each case to his audience with macabre humor.

Trivia about Creepshow

Taurus Entertainment Company began exploring a television adaptation of Creepshow as early as February 1997, long before the series reached Shudder.

The story "Survivor Type" from Stephen King was slated for the pilot episode but was not used in the first season and ended up in the animated Halloween special that aired in 2020.

In February 2021, it was announced that the episode starring Marilyn Manson would not air due to several allegations of abuse, and that one featuring Molly Ringwald would air instead.

Filming for the second season was set to begin in March 2020, but it was halted by the COVID-19 pandemic and didn't resume until September 2020.

On Rotten Tomatoes, the series has a 97% approval rating based on 32 reviews, with an average score of 7.6/10.

The first season broke Shudder records for viewers, new subscriber sign-ups and minutes watched, becoming the most-watched show in the platform's history.

Ethan Embry and Andrew Bachelor, known as King Bach, were signed as guest stars for the third season, whose production was already underway when the renewal was announced.
