Synopsis of The Flash

Barry Allen works as a crime scene investigator in Central City, a city where the police face increasingly dangerous criminals. An explosion at the particle accelerator at S.T.A.R. Labs causes lightning to strike him in his lab, and chemicals altered by the accident soak him. When he wakes up, he has superhuman speed. He decides to use it to fight criminals, alongside others who have also gained similar abilities after the event. Created by Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and Geoff Johns, the series airs on The CW and stars Grant Gustin as Barry. It is part of the same fictional universe as Arrow.

Trivia about The Flash

The pilot was the second most-watched series premiere in The CW's history, behind only The Vampire Diaries in 2009.
The network passed on Arrow episode 20 as a pilot after watching the footage from the two Barry episodes, which made a very strong impression on the executives.
The Flash suit was designed by three-time Oscar winner Colleen Atwood, who kept the hero's classic red costume.
At first, Gustin took about 40 minutes to put on the suit, a time that was cut to about 15 minutes when a new hood was designed.
Composer Blake Neely had already written a theme for Barry Allen on Arrow, and he was hired in April 2014 to score the pilot.
The producers made Wally West Iris's brother, when in the comics he was her nephew, a change from the original material.
Grant Gustin initially did not want to audition for the role of Barry Allen because he thought he wasn't right for the part. After landing it, he won several Teen Choice Awards and a Saturn Award for playing the role.
The CW confirmed that season nine would be the final season of "The Flash" and would have a shorter run; the series ended in 2023 after nine seasons.
