Synopsis of Estoy vivo

In Vallecas, Madrid, Inspector Andrés Vargas pursues the Midnight Butcher, a psychopath who has already murdered five women. During the chase, he dies but is given a second chance at life. His return comes five years later, in the body of Manuel Márquez, another police officer. Vargas is not alone in this situation: El Enlace, known as Iago, is his partner, and the two face the killer once again, who has resumed his activity. They are also joined by Susana, Vargas's daughter, who does not suspect Márquez's true identity. The series blends police drama with supernatural and comedy elements and airs on La 1 on TVE.

Trivia about Estoy vivo

In December 2017, Amazon acquired the distribution rights to the series in Spain and Latin America for its video-on-demand service.

In September 2018, CBS confirmed it was developing an American adaptation titled Far Rockaway, alongside screenwriter David Wilcox.

In January 2019, it was announced that France and Italy were developing their own adaptations of the series.

RTVE confirmed the renewal for a second season on December 20, 2017, and the fourth arrived on February 6, 2020.

Filming of the fourth season wrapped in February 2021, and that season premiered on March 10 of that same year.

The first season averaged 2,224,000 viewers and a 13.9% share; in addition, ten of the twenty most-watched delayed broadcasts on La 1 were episodes of the series.

Episode 11 was the episode with the biggest delayed viewing audience in the first season, adding 409,000 viewers to its live audience.

Javier Gutiérrez won the Ondas Award for Best Male Performance in Fiction and two MiM Series awards, for Best Screenplay and Best Drama Actor.
