Vince Vaughn

Vincent Anthony Vaughn (Minneapolis, Minnesota; March 28, 1970), professionally known as Vince Vaughn, is an American film actor. He began acting in the late 1980s with brief television roles before gaining wider recognition with his appearances in films such as Swingers (1996) and The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997). Since then, he has worked in many films, mostly comedies, including Old School, Starsky & Hutch, Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, Couples Retreat, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Wedding Crashers, and The Break-Up, among others.

He started his career in show business as a model, appearing in Chevrolet commercials, and later appeared in several episodes of TV series such as Baywatch Nights or Hercules. In 1993, his role in Rudy led to a bigger on-camera presence, and he became friends with actor Jon Favreau.

His breakthrough came with Swingers, directed by Doug Liman, which caught the attention of none other than Steven Spielberg, who directed Vaughn in The Lost World: Jurassic Park, the sequel to Jurassic Park. In 2015, he played one of the lead characters in the second season of the series True Detective.
