Trivia about Master of None

Filming of the third season began in London in early 2020, but was halted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Naomi Ackie joined the cast when production resumed in January 2021.

The role of Arnold, played by Eric Wareheim, was originally written for Harris Wittels, who died in February 2015.

Lena Waithe told Entertainment Weekly that her character was not originally conceived as African American or as a lesbian. Ansari wanted Denise's personality to reflect Waithe's, so they rewrote the role.

The series ended up including a song with the same title, composed by the American band Beach House. Ansari said it took months to choose the title, and that he and Yang didn't agree on it until all the episodes were finished.

The series has won three Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe. It also appeared on several lists of the best shows of the year.

Vulture notes that Alessandra Mastronardi, who plays Francesca, had already worked with Woody Allen on To Rome with Love (2012), one of the influences credited for the second season.

Shoukath Ansari, father of Aziz Ansari, landed the role of his own character after auditioning alongside 18 other candidates; the team decided to hire him after seeing his sense of humor during the audition.

The family dinner scene in the episode «Parents» required a full day of shooting because it called for filming numerous camera angles and eyelines to cover every line of dialogue.
