Synopsis of Lucifer

Lucifer Morningstar, played by Tom Ellis, is the Lord of Hell and is bored with his realm. Tired of ruling it, he gives up his throne and settles in Los Angeles, where he runs Lux, an exclusive nightclub, and lives a life of hedonism. His routine changes when he gets involved in a murder investigation alongside Detective Chloe Decker, who is played by Lauren German. What intrigues him most about her is that she seems to be the first human who doesn't fall under his spell. The series was created by Tom Kapinos and originally aired on Fox.

Trivia about Lucifer

On May 28, 2015, the American Family Association published a petition to stop the series from airing. Before the premiere, the two sites gathered 134 331 and 31 312 signatures.

After the cancellation, fans pushed the hashtag #SaveLucifer, which reached the number one trending spot on Twitter. Joe Henderson had encouraged fans to make some noise.

Netflix titled the penultimate episode of season four "Save Lucifer" in tribute to the fan campaign that called for its rescue.

According to Nielsen, after the premiere of the second part of season five, the series led viewing metrics with 1800 million minutes streamed in one week.

The opening theme is a six-second clip of "Being Evil Has a Price," performed by the band Heavy Young Heathens. The song's composers sued Warner Bros. for using it without credit or a license.

Tom Ellis sings in several episodes, but the piano accompaniment heard on screen isn't his, the actor himself said.

Lina Esco was the first choice to play Maze, but the role ended up going to Lesley-Ann Brandt.

Netflix expanded the fifth season from 10 to 16 episodes while it was already in production and cast Dennis Haysbert to play God.
