Synopsis of Knight Rider

Twenty-five years after the original series, Mike Traceur is a young man with aspirations of becoming a race car driver who takes the wheel of the new generation of KITT, a Ford Shelby GT500KR. He works at Knight Industries, a high-tech company contracted by the government and law enforcement, within a secret research and development unit. There he shares missions with Sarah Graiman, his former girlfriend and the daughter of Charles Graiman, the car's creator. His superiors are NSA agent Alex Torres and FBI agent Carrie Rivai. The team must solve cases that require both Mike's expertise and the technology of a vehicle capable of almost anything. In the first episode, a mission takes a turn when people show up claiming to know Mike, and he doesn't remember them at all.

Trivia about Knight Rider

Ben Silverman approved the production in a deal backed by Ford Motor Company, the car's supplier, before the series reached the weekly lineup.
Will Arnett was originally cast to voice KITT and even recorded his lines, but was later replaced by Val Kilmer.
The characters played by Yancey Arias, Bruce Davison, and Sydney Tamiia Poitier were written out of the show when the actors' initial thirteen-episode commitment ended.
The dashboard no longer has a central screen; instead, the windshield works as a surface with touch-sensitive front displays that run across the entire interior.
The pilot aired as a TV movie to gauge interest in KITT's return, and while the audience was strong, critics were not on board.
Several KITT cars were built for the TV movie: a prototype, several Hero cars, an attack model, another with a driver's station on the roof for stunt performers, and a sectioned vehicle; they came from Mustang V6, V8, and one wrecked car.
NBC initially expanded the season with nine additional episodes, but later cut the order from 22 to 17 episodes due to declining ratings; the series was canceled after its first season.
