Synopsis of White Collar

Neal Caffrey is a con artist, forger, and thief who has spent years playing cat and mouse with the FBI. After being sentenced to four years in prison, he has only a few months left on his sentence when he escapes from a maximum-security federal prison with one goal: to find Kate, his ex-girlfriend. FBI agent Peter Burke, the man who caught him the first time, tracks him down in a dead end and returns him to his cell. Caffrey then makes him an offer: help the FBI hunt down white-collar criminals in exchange for early release through a work program outside prison. Created by Jeff Eastin and set in New York City, the series focuses on the forced partnership between a brilliant criminal and the agent who is chasing him.

Trivia about White Collar

In 2013, ION Television bought the syndication rights to the series along with Burn Notice, making it the third USA Network series to air on ION, alongside Monk and Psych.

The first season earned a 96% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with an average score of 8/10 based on 27 reviews.

In 2020, Jeff Eastin tweeted that he'd had a great conversation with Matt Bomer and that they had a plan to bring the series back, although Fox 21 wasn't working on it.

The series reboot was confirmed in development on June 6, 2024, with no network or platform attached. Eastin is writing it with Bomer, DeKay, and Thiessen involved.

In 2015, Matt Bomer won the Favorite Cable TV Actor award at the People's Choice Awards.

The follow-up project has a written pilot titled "Masquerade," but Hulu passed on developing it, and no new platform, start of filming, or release date has been confirmed.
