Synopsis of Castlevania

Trevor Belmont, the last member of an ancient family of monster hunters, lives in Wallachia, a country where fear shapes everyday life. Dracula's wife, Lisa, is burned at the stake after being falsely accused of witchcraft, and the vampire swears that all the people of Wallachia will pay with their lives. His army of monsters and demons lays waste to the country, and the survivors live in fear and mistrust. Trevor decides to take up arms against Dracula's forces, aided by the sorceress Sypha Belnades and by Adrian Alucard Tepes, the count's son. Created by Warren Ellis for Netflix, the series follows this group as they try to stop an enemy determined to destroy the population. Richard Armitage voices Trevor.

Trivia about Castlevania

The original idea was a movie based on a script by Warren Ellis from 2007, but the project took until 2015 to begin development.
Adi Shankar turned down the chance to direct a live-action version of Ellis's script because he felt it was «250 percent wrong», since he had great respect for the original video game.
According to Parrot Analytics, the series was the most popular original digital series in the United States between July 6 and July 19, 2017, with an average of 23,175,616 «demand expressions».
The first season was the first video game adaptation to earn a «Fresh» rating in Rotten Tomatoes history.
Netflix announced the fourth season on March 27, 2019, and confirmed on April 16, 2020 that it would be the series' final season.
The spin-off «Castlevania: Nocturne» was renewed for a second season just eight days after its premiere, with Sam and Adam Deats returning as co-directors and Powerhouse Animation and Project 51 Productions as producers.
«Castlevania: Nocturne» is set 300 years after the end of the four seasons of «Castlevania» and follows Richter Belmont, a descendant of Trevor Belmont.
