Synopsis of The Witcher
Geralt of Rivia is a witcher who kills monsters for money. He was mutated as a child to be more effective at the trade. The continent is in chaos, because the Empire of Nilfgaard wants to expand its borders. Among the refugees fleeing the war is Princess Cirilla of Cintra, Ciri, whom Nilfgaard relentlessly pursues because of a secret power she possesses. The series, created by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich for Netflix, opens with three timelines: Geralt's, Ciri's and Yennefer of Vengerberg's, each set in a different era. Henry Cavill, Freya Allan and Anya Chalotra play these characters. Destiny binds the witcher and the princess together from before she was born, and Geralt becomes her protector against those who hunt her.
