Synopsis of The Witcher: Blood Origin

Set 1200 years before the events of The Witcher series, this fantasy miniseries takes place in the ancient elven civilization of Xin'trea, shortly before its downfall. Éile, a guard of the Queen, has left the Raven Clan to live as a wandering musician. Fjall, born into a warrior clan, seeks revenge after the Empress's betrayal. Scian, the last member of a nomadic clan of swordfighters, tries to recover a sword stolen from her people. Meanwhile, the bard Jaskier is rescued from death in a war by the mysterious Seanchai, who asks him to write an unknown legend: that of seven warriors who fought against Xin'trea after its coup d'état. Created by Declan de Barra and Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, the series airs on Netflix.

Filming began in August 2021 in the United Kingdom, and additional casting was announced with Lenny Henry, Mirren Mack, Nathaniel Curtis and Dylan Moran.
