Synopsis of The Legend of Vox Machina

The Legend of Vox Machina follows seven adventurers living in Exandria, a fantasy world. Most of the story takes place on the continent of Tal'Dorei, with locations such as the metropolis of Emon and the city-state of Whitestone. The first episodes introduce the group on their first adult mission, a new story that takes place before Critical Role's first tabletop campaign. Later, the series adapts different arcs from the original Dungeons & Dragons campaign. Created by Chris Prynoski and broadcast on Prime Video, the production features the actors who play the characters in the campaign, who reprise their roles in the original voice cast: Laura Bailey, Taliesin Jaffe, Ashley Johnson, Liam O'Brien, Marisha Ray, Travis Willingham, Matthew Mercer and Sam Riegel.

Trivia about The Legend of Vox Machina

When it closed, the series' Kickstarter campaign was the most funded in history for television and film projects, and one of the fastest.
The campaign surpassed Mystery Science Theater 3000, which had been the previous record holder, as the largest Kickstarter in the Film & Video category.
In the first quarter of 2022, the series had 17.9 times the average demand of all other U.S. series, according to the consultancy Parrot Analytics.
In 2022, the series won Rotten Tomatoes' Golden Tomatoe award for Best Animated Series.
Before the series, an animated ad for D&D Beyond featuring the characters of The Mighty Nein in combat, animated by Kamille and Kevin Areopagita, paved the way for its production.
Willingham explained that the Briarwood arc lasted about 35 hours of gameplay and had to be cut down to around six for the adaptation.
The fourth season premieres June 3, 2026 on Prime Video with three initial episodes, followed by a weekly release schedule; the series will also have a fifth season, announced as its last.
The fourth season will feature characters voiced by Wayne Brady, Kevin Michael Richardson, Debra Wilson and Tom Cardy.
