Synopsis of Marvel's Ultimate Spider-Man

Peter Parker has spent some time fighting supervillains in New York as Spider-Man, but he still has a lot to learn before he becomes a true hero. Nick Fury, director of S.H.I.E.L.D., offers him the chance to train to become the "Marvel's Ultimate Spider-Man." To earn it, Peter must learn to work as a team with other teenage superheroes, such as Power Man, Nova, and White Tiger, all while still attending Midtown High. Created by Brian Michael Bendis and aired on Disney XD, the series follows a young man who must learn to trust his mentors and teammates to rise to the challenge.

Trivia about Marvel's Ultimate Spider-Man

The series breaks the fourth wall, which sets it apart from other productions of its kind: Spider-Man speaks directly to the audience. It also includes fantasy sequences that come from Peter's imagination.
J. K. Simmons returns to voice J. Jonah Jameson, the character he played in the Sam Raimi Spider-Man trilogy, in this animated version.
Oliver Sava, of The A.V. Club, suggested that the series should be called Synergy Spider-Man, because it goes beyond the continuity of the film and Ultimate to serve as a gateway to Marvel's main titles.
Brian Lowry, of Variety, called the series a "high-profile misfire," and said the original material came through the filter of Family Guy.
In the 2014 comic book crossover "Spider-Verse," the series' version of Spider-Man joins the comics' Spider-Man to recruit an army of spider-powered heroes against the Inheritors.
Disney XD renewed the series for a second season after just nine episodes; the announcement noted that its total Sunday audience had more than doubled.
Disney XD ordered a third season in 2013 and promoted it as its number one animated series, with a creative team described as award-winning.
