Synopsis of Devil May Cry

Dante is a freelance demon hunter and the son of the legendary Sparda, who makes a living by destroying hellish creatures. The government pursues him through DARKCOM, the organization led by Vice President William Baines, while Dante clashes with the White Rabbit, a terrorist obsessed with demons who wants revenge on the human race. The story takes place on Earth, which is threatened by a demonic invasion orchestrated by the White Rabbit. Dante tries to stop it, but he also faces Mary Ann Arkham, a DARKCOM lieutenant whom he nicknames Lady. Created by Adi Shankar for Netflix, the series features Johnny Yong Bosch as the voice of Dante, alongside Scout Taylor-Compton, Hoon Lee and Chris Coppola in the cast.

Trivia about Devil May Cry

Adi Shankar first tried to acquire the rights to Dino Crisis before he was offered Devil May Cry, according to his own statements.
The series' opening sequence, featuring the song "Rollin'" by Limp Bizkit, was shown in January 2025.
Since Kevin Conroy had not finished recording all of his dialogue before he died, Ian James Corlett joined mid-production to take over the role of Baines.
The original song "Afterlife" by the band Evanescence plays during the sixth episode, which one critic called the best in the series.
The first season has a 96% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 28 reviews.
The second season drew 4.1 million views in its premiere week, more than 20% fewer than the first.
Netflix renewed "Devil May Cry" for a third and final season, according to the announcement published in June 2026, although its premiere date has not been revealed yet.
The series was nominated for Best Adaptation at The Game Awards 2025, and the song "The First Circle" by Power Glove and Alex Seaver received a nomination at the Annie Awards 2026.
