Synopsis of Batman: The Brave and the Bold

Batman teams up with other DC Universe characters in every episode of this animated series, which aired on Cartoon Network. His adventure partners are often heroes less familiar to the public, and together they try to thwart a villain's plans or solve a crime. Each story opens with a short introduction in which the Dark Knight joins one or more heroes before the main plot begins. There is no overarching story connecting the episodes, so each one works on its own. The tone is lighter than in other versions of the character, with a more playful Batman and dry humor. The series was created by James Tucker and Michael Jelenic and features a format of rotating teams that come together to solve a different problem in each episode.

Trivia about Batman: The Brave and the Bold

The series was the first produced by Warner Bros. Animation to air in high definition, and it is featured in its intro.
La La Land Records released a two-disc compilation of music from twelve episodes in a limited edition of 2000 copies.
A soundtrack featuring songs from the musical episode 'Mayhem of the Music Meister!' was released on October 24, 2009.
The creators chose lesser-known characters, such as Guy Gardner and Jay Garrick, instead of the more popular Hal Jordan or Barry Allen.
The first episode debuted Warner Bros. Animation's new logo, with Bugs Bunny drawn in the style of the 1940s.
The series had a comic book continuation that ended in 2014 and a crossover movie with Scooby-Doo that aired in 2018.
Michael Jelenic conceived "Mitefall" during the second season, when he believed the series would end with episode 52; the episode was produced after Cartoon Network commissioned 13 additional episodes.
For an episode about a series that "jumps the shark," James Tucker confirmed that they deliberately chose Henry Winkler, who is associated with that expression, and also brought in Ted McGinley.
