Synopsis of 13 Reasons Why

Clay Jensen, a 16-year-old student at Liberty High, comes home from school and finds an anonymous package on his porch. Inside is a shoebox with seven cassette tapes recorded on both sides. They were left by Hannah Baker, a classmate who recently moved into the neighborhood and has since died. The tapes first went to Tony, with instructions to pass them from one student to the next. The story takes place in the fictional town of Crestmont, California, and follows Clay as he listens to what Hannah wanted to tell before she died. Created by Brian Yorkey for Netflix, the series stars Dylan Minnette and Katherine Langford.

«If you're listening, you're too late.»

Trivia about 13 Reasons Why

When it premiered, the series became Netflix's second most-watched show. Netflix renewed it for a second season thanks to the success of its first thirteen episodes.

Langford was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Television Drama for her performance in season one.

Season three was dedicated to executive producer Steve Golin, founder and CEO of Anonymous Content, who died of Ewing sarcoma on April 21, 2019.

In July 2019, Netflix removed the suicide scene from the final episode of season one.

There were therapy dogs in the recording studio because of the series' intense and emotional content.

Netflix renewed the series three times and announced that season four would be the last. The production ended with 49 episodes, one fewer than the 50 originally planned.
