Synopsis of It

In Derry, a small town in Maine, an evil force hides behind the mask of a clown the children call 'It.' Bill Denbrough, a boy who stutters, lives with his parents and his little brother, Georgie, in a town where children disappear and adults look the other way. Bill, Ben, Beverly, Richie, Eddie, Mike and Stan are seven outcast kids who begin to encounter the creature. Each one faces his own fears, while the neighborhood bullies make their lives miserable. The kids swear to destroy the monster, even though no one believes them and they themselves doubt they can do it.

Trivia about It

The miniseries was ABC's biggest hit in 1990 and drew a total of 30 million viewers across its two parts.
Richard Bellis's score earned an Emmy for Outstanding Music Composition, and the editing received an Eddie Award.
A documentary about the miniseries' production, funded through Indiegogo, came out of it, titled Pennywise: The Story of It (2020).
While waiting between takes, Curry smoked nonstop and bared his teeth whenever any of the kids got too close.
Harry Anderson proposed to Wallace a scene in which all the club members hug Bill except Richie, an idea that made it into the final cut.
According to King, the crew doubted Curry could play Pennywise, perhaps because of his comedic roles in The Rocky Horror Picture Show and Clue.
Of Cohen's 215-page script, much of the novel's material was left out, and the novel is 1,138 pages long.
Ritter asked his agent to tell ABC that he would accept any role, including the girl's.
