Synopsis of The Americans
In the early 80s, the United States and the Soviet Union are locked in a tense Cold War under the presidency of Ronald Reagan. Philip and Elizabeth Jennings are two KGB agents who have spent years living in Falls Church, a suburb of Virginia near Washington, D.C. There, they pose as an ordinary American married couple and raise their two children, Paige and Henry, who suspect nothing about their parents. The couple juggles their espionage missions with the demands of domestic life. Their cover gets complicated when Stan Beeman, an FBI agent specializing in counterintelligence, moves into the neighborhood, and his marriage also suffers because of his job. Created by Joe Weisberg for FX, the series stars Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys.
«All's fair in love and cold war.»
