Synopsis of Perry Mason

Los Angeles, 1932. The Great Depression hits the United States, but the city enjoys a period of prosperity thanks to oil and the film industry. Perry Mason is a small-time private investigator who works for E.B. Jonathan, a struggling lawyer who survives on few cases. Alongside Della Street, the law firm's legal secretary, and police officer Paul Drake, Mason takes on an investigation that comes from the very top. Herman Baggerly, a powerful Southern California industrialist, wants to know who kidnapped his one-year-old son. The case tests Mason and exposes tensions that run through the entire city. Created by Rolin Jones and Ron Fitzgerald, the series airs on HBO and stars Matthew Rhys.
