Trivia about Succession

Jesse Armstrong originally conceived the story as a feature film about the Murdochs, but that screenplay was never filmed, and the project ultimately became a series.

The premiere drew 582,000 live viewers, compared with the 1.39 million who watched Westworld, the show that aired before it on HBO's schedule.

The series finale drew 2.9 million viewers, a 68% increase over the third season finale, which had 1.7 million.

The production used a mostly handheld camera inspired by the Dogma 95 movement and aimed to mimic the style of mockumentaries.

Nicholas Britell's score is considered a blend of hip-hop and classical music, and it received praise along with the main title theme.

The second season set the record for acting nominations in a single year at the Primetime Emmy Awards, with 14.

Jesse Armstrong has said he doesn't find spin-offs of «Succession» interesting, and that he and the writers have already developed their characters sufficiently.
