Synopsis of South Park

South Park follows four boys, Stan Marsh, Kyle Broflovski, Eric Cartman and Kenny McCormick, who live in a small, fictional town in Colorado called South Park. The town sits in the real-life Middle Park valley in the Rocky Mountains, an hour's drive from Denver. Alongside them live students, families and the staff of the elementary school. Stan is an ordinary American boy, though misfortune is never far away. Kyle is Jewish, and his status as one of the few Jewish kids in town becomes a target for satire. The four boys' adventures arise from surreal situations in everyday settings. The series, created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone, airs on Comedy Central and is aimed at an adult audience.

«Four boys. One f**ked-up town.»

Trivia about South Park

The second short became one of the first viral videos on the Internet and led to the production of the series.
Fox refused to air a show featuring a talking stool named Mr. Hankey, and that refusal led to the creators' split with the network.
The series nearly got canceled before it aired because it tested poorly with focus groups, especially with women.
Episodes of South Park cost 250,000 dollars each in its early years on air.
With a crew of about 70 people, episodes usually take a week to finish, and some are completed in three or four days.
The series debuted to huge ratings and consistently drew the highest numbers of any basic cable show.
The episode "About Last Night..." aired less than 24 hours after Barack Obama was declared the winner and uses excerpts from his victory speech.
George Clooney voiced Sparky, Stan's dog, in the first-season episode "Big Gay Al's Big Gay Boat Ride."
