Synopsis of Inside Job

Inside Job is an adult animated workplace comedy created by Shion Takeuchi for Netflix. Set in a world where conspiracy theories are real, it follows Cognito, Inc., a shadowy U.S. government agency headquartered in Washington, D.C. Its mission is to control the planet and keep every conspiracy a secret. Reagan Ridley, a socially awkward tech genius, works there because she believes society can be improved, all while dealing with irresponsible coworkers. Alongside her new partner, Brett Hand, she shares an office with reptilian shapeshifters, a human-dolphin hybrid, and media manipulators.

Trivia about Inside Job

Netflix ordered 20 episodes of the series in April 2019, more than two years before its premiere.
Takeuchi told Polygon that the idea for the series came from her college days.
Between October 24 and October 31, 2021, the series accumulated 21,240,000 hours of viewing on Netflix worldwide.
Netflix reversed the renewal of the second season and canceled the series, as Takeuchi announced on January 8, 2023.
Hirsch said he was inspired by 1990s series such as The X-Files.
The cancellation prompted a fan petition to save the series, whose stated goal was to gather 50,000 signatures and take the demand to Netflix.
