Synopsis of Empire

Lucious Lyon is a former drug dealer turned hip-hop mogul and owner of Empire Entertainment, a music company based in New York. When he is diagnosed with ALS, his life begins to fall apart as the sins of his past come back to haunt him. Lucious must choose a successor to his empire from among his three sons: Andre, the financial officer and the eldest brother; Jamal, an R&B singer; and Hakeem, a rapper and his father's favorite. Each of them wants to run the company, and the family becomes a battleground for control. The series, created by Lee Daniels and Danny Strong, airs on FOX and stars Terrence Howard.
