Synopsis of Parenthood

Parenthood follows three generations of the Braverman family in Berkeley, California, on the East Bay of San Francisco. Zeek and Camille, the patriarchs, have four children, Adam, Sarah, Crosby and Julia, and each of them has started a family of their own. Adam is married to Kristina, and they are parents to Haddie, Max and Nora. Max has been diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome. Sarah is divorced from Seth and has two teenage children, Amber and Drew. Created by Jason Katims and aired on NBC, the series stars Peter Krause and Lauren Graham. The Bravermans try to balance their personal lives with the responsibilities of parenthood while leaning on one another as a family.

Trivia about Parenthood

Lauren Graham replaced Maura Tierney in the role of Sarah. Before her, Helen Hunt had been approached, but did not reach a financial agreement with NBC.
To prepare the character of Max, the team consulted a doctor who specializes in children with Asperger's syndrome, and meetings with him continued every other episode during filming.
The premiere episode is dedicated to the memory of Nora O'Brien, NBC vice president, who died on the set of Parenthood on April 29, 2009 after collapsing from an aneurysm.
Despite very positive reviews, the show never drew a large audience. The pilot episode had the highest ratings, and from there the numbers declined.
Andrew McMahon, of Jack's Mannequin, wrote «Casting Lines» after the show's producers contacted him about being the main theme song artist.
The pilot episode was shot in Northern California with local crews, while the rest of the series was filmed in Los Angeles.
NBC renewed «Parenthood» for a sixth season of 13 episodes and announced it would be the last, after years of fans waiting anxiously for every renewal.
To keep the cost of the sixth season's return down, several cast members, including Craig T. Nelson, Peter Krause, Lauren Graham and Dax Shepard, agreed to reduce their appearances.
