In Los Angeles, three emergency teams work toward one goal: getting there on time. The series follows the professional and personal lives of the crew at Los Angeles Fire Department Station 118, the officers of the Los Angeles Police Department, and the dispatchers of the 911 who receive and coordinate emergency calls from across the city. Each shift brings a different incident, and each responder must make split-second decisions. Off the job, families, friendships and romantic relationships demand as much attention as the calls. The story alternates between these two sides to show what it means to dedicate your life to protecting others. Angela Bassett plays Athena Grant, an LAPD detective. The series was created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Tim Minear, and premiered on Fox in 2018.
