Synopsis of Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life

Ten years after Gilmore Girls, Lorelai, Rory and Emily Gilmore go through a year divided into four seasons. Lorelai still runs the Dragonfly Inn, where she feels lost despite an outwardly stable life. Rory is a journalist and freelance writer. She has no permanent home and splits her time between different cities as she tries to advance her career. Emily, for her part, persuades her daughter to start therapy together. Lorelai has been with Luke for more than ten years, but neither of them has taken the step toward marriage or talked about having children. The miniseries, created by Amy Sherman-Palladino for Netflix, is set in Stars Hollow and presents them with personal and family changes.

«Live more. Laugh more. Eat more. Talk more. Gilmore.»

Trivia about Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life

Sparky, the dog who played Lorelai's dog, Paul Anka, confirmed his return to the Netflix miniseries.

In April 2016, Sherman-Palladino explained that the 90-minute format was inspired by Sherlock, a show she's a fan of.

At a convention in Tulsa, Milo Ventimiglia said they didn't believe the reunion would happen until they received an email from the producers.

Gavin Polone sued Warner Bros. Television for a credit on the miniseries, but ultimately had no role in it.

The miniseries aired on The CW in November 2020 in an edited version, partly because the network needed programming during the COVID-19 pandemic.

On Rotten Tomatoes, the miniseries has an approval rating of 87% based on 87 reviews.

During its first three days, the miniseries drew an estimated average of 4,971 million viewers aged 18 to 49, the third-highest figure among streaming original premieres.
