Synopsis of American Horror Story

American Horror Story is a television series created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk for the FX network. Its first season is set in Los Angeles in 2011 and follows the Harmon family, who move from Boston after a loss and an infidelity. Ben, a psychiatrist, and his wife Vivien settle with their teenage daughter Violet in a restored house, hoping to leave the past behind. However, the house had former residents, the Langdons, and soon the family begins to cross paths with them. Dylan McDermott, Connie Britton and Taissa Farmiga lead the cast of this story, which blends family drama with supernatural mystery.

The first season was the most-watched new cable series of 2011 on FX.
Murphy said that by the ninth episode of the first season, every image in the opening sequence would be explained.
