Synopsis of Scream Queens

At Wallace University, the Kappa Kappa Tau sorority is going through a tense time. Its president, Chanel Oberlin (Emma Roberts), and her sorority sisters, known as the Chanels, are in constant conflict with Dean Cathy Munsch (Jamie Lee Curtis), who looks down on the young women. The sorority's rules require it to accept any student who wants to join, and Grace Gardner, who has just arrived on campus, decides to rush because her mother was a member. Soon, parties and rivalries are shrouded in unease, because a crime committed two decades earlier resurfaces. Scream Queens, created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan, blends slasher horror with dark humor and airs on Fox.

Trivia about Scream Queens

Fox ordered a first season of fifteen episodes, which was later cut to thirteen.
In September 2015, it was revealed that Heather Langenkamp, a "scream queen," is behind the show's special effects.
Jamie Lee Curtis paid tribute to the classic shower scene from Janet Leigh's mother in Psycho.
The theme song, "You Belong to Me," is performed by Heather Heywood, who wrote it with composer Mac Quayle and Alexis Martin Woodall.
The outdoor campus scenes were shot at Tulane University in New Orleans.
The first season earned a 68% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 148 reviews.
The second season averaged 1,446 million viewers and a 0.60 share among adults aged 18 to 49, compared with 2.79 million and 1.09 for the first.
In 2020, Ryan Murphy proposed either a six-episode continuation or a movie after talking with Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, and Lea Michele about bringing the show back.
