My Sister's Keeper

The lives of Sara (Cameron Diaz) and Brian Fitzgerald (Jason Patric) are turned upside down when their two-year-old daughter, Kate (Vassilieva), is diagnosed with leukemia. Sara immediately gives up her law career to devote herself entirely to caring for her daughter. Her only hope of saving her is to have another child. Genetic engineering raises still-thorny moral questions, but for the Fitzgeralds it is the only option. That is how Anne (Breslin) is born, and a far deeper bond than usual forms between her and Kate, especially because both will have to undergo various medical treatments and spend long stretches in the hospital together.
