Synopsis of 30 Rock

Liz Lemon, played by Tina Fey, leads the writing team of an NBC variety show, a comedy sketch show taped in Studio 6H at the 30 30 Rock in New York City. Her best friend, Jenna Maroney, is the show's star and fears losing the spotlight when NBC executive Jack Donaghy, a conservative played by Alec Baldwin, arrives at the network. Jack forces Liz to hire Tracy Jordan, an unpredictable movie actor played by Tracy Morgan, as a co-star on the show. Liz works to get every episode on the air while dealing with her colleagues' egos, the executive's interference and her own personal conflicts, especially with Jack, whose political views clash with hers.

Trivia about 30 Rock

Fey pitched herself as the lead, Liz Lemon, as the first step in her work as casting director, and the character resembles her when she became head writer at SNL.

In the episode "Cleveland" and "Hiatus," Battery Park City and Douglaston stood in for Cleveland, Ohio, and Needmore, Pennsylvania, respectively, while the interiors were shot mainly in Queens.

The series' music is composed by Jeff Richmond, Tina Fey's husband, who also works as the show's producer.

The series' original soundtrack was released on November 16, 2010 through Relativity Music Group.

In July 2009, the series received 22 Primetime Emmy nominations, the most ever recorded for a comedy in a single year.

In 2009, Comedy Central and WGN America acquired the syndication rights to the series, and it has aired on both networks since September 19, 2011.

The cast of "30 Rock" will reunite on October 11, 2026 at Radio City Music Hall for a single live performance to celebrate its 20th anniversary, with no television broadcast or streaming.

"30 Rock" won 16 Emmy Awards from 90 nominations, according to the official NBC profile, which also credits Tina Fey with three Emmys for his work on the series.
