Synopsis of 2 Broke Girls

In the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York City, Max Black and Caroline Channing are waitresses in their twenties who work together at a local diner. Max grew up in a modest family and needs every dollar she earns. Caroline was born into a wealthy family, but her father ended up arrested for a Ponzi scheme and she lost everything. Despite their differences, the two become roommates and friends while pursuing a shared goal: opening a cupcake shop. To make it happen, they need to raise 250,000 dollars, a sum far beyond what they earn at the restaurant. Created by Michael Patrick King and Whitney Cummings and aired on CBS, the series stars Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs.
