Synopsis of Justice League

After a United Nations meeting agrees on global disarmament, the defense of the planet falls to Superman. Soon after, a race of powerful aliens attacks Earth from Mars with machines similar to those in H.G. Wells's novel The War of the Worlds. In the middle of the battle, Superman receives a call from J'onn, a captive Martian held in a government facility and the last survivor of his people, who was attacked by the same invaders. Superman then assembles a team made up of Batman, Flash, Green Lantern, Hawkgirl and Wonder Woman, who has left her island to protect humankind. Created by Bruce Timm and aired on Cartoon Network, the series follows these heroes as they try to stop the invasion.

Trivia about Justice League

The premiere, on November 17, 2001, set a Cartoon Network record by drawing more than 4,114 million viewers.
Before the series was approved, the creative team made a reel with Robin and a female Cyborg, who were cut once the production was greenlit, and Impulse was replaced by Flash.
Tim Daly, who had voiced Superman, turned down the role to star in the series version of The Fugitive, and was replaced by George Newbern.
La-La Land Records released a four-disc soundtrack in July 2016, in a limited edition of 3000 copies, featuring songs from both seasons.
Between 2002 and 2004, DC Comics published a 34-issue comic book series based on the show, which often ignored its continuity.
In January 2009, IGN ranked Justice League at number 20 on its list of the greatest animated TV series of all time, alongside Justice League Unlimited.
The series also aired in Ireland on TG4, in Irish and English, starting September 6, 2002.
The second season was conceived as the series finale, but Cartoon Network later approved "Justice League Unlimited," which premiered on July 31, 2004 with a larger cast of characters.
