Synopsis of Big Sky

Big Sky is a police drama series created by David E. Kelley for ABC. Cassie Dewell and Cody Hoyt run a private detective agency in Montana, and now they have help from Jenny Hoyt, a former police officer separated from Cody who still works for them. Katheryn Winnick plays Jenny and Kylie Bunbury plays Cassie. Their case begins on a remote state highway, where a truck driver has kidnapped two sisters. Soon they discover that they are not the only girls missing in the area. The three detectives must race against the clock to stop the killer before he takes another woman.

Trivia about Big Sky

The role made Jesse James Keitel one of the first nonbinary actors to play a recurring nonbinary character on prime-time television.
The series was originally set to shoot in Albuquerque and Las Vegas, but production moved to Vancouver in July 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States.
After the pilot aired, several tribal councils and leaders wrote to ABC and David E. Kelley to criticize the series for having no tribal representation whatsoever.
Elwood Reid, added as an executive producer in the second half of the first season, took over from Kelley in the second season, although Kelley remained an executive producer.
ABC renewed the series for a third season in May 2022 and made Jensen Ackles and Jamie-Lynn Sigler regular cast members.
Omar Metwally had a limited presence at the start of the third season due to his commitment to a stage play, according to executive producer Elwood Reid.
Reba McEntire joined the third season as Sunny Barnes, while Rosanna Arquette took on the role of Virginia Cessna, Jenny Hoyt's mother.
