Synopsis of Tracker

Colter Shaw is a lone survivor and expert tracker who makes a living as a bounty hunter. He travels across the United States and takes on jobs from police and private clients looking for missing people or needing crimes solved in exchange for money. To handle these cases, he relies on a support team: a couple who find him work and do background research, a hacker who provides technical help, and a lawyer who advises him on legal matters. The series, created by Ben H. Winters and aired on CBS, stars Justin Hartley and adapts Jeffery Deaver's novel The Never Game. Each case tests Shaw's instincts and skills as he works for the reward while also trying to help those who have nowhere else to turn.

Trivia about Tracker

The series was filmed in British Columbia, Canada, taking advantage of the scenery in the Greater Vancouver area, and also at Martini Film Studios.

The series reached CBS through a prior deal between 20th Television and the network, which ordered a pilot in July 2022.

It premiered as a follow-up program after Super Bowl LVIII. In Kansas City, the broadcast moved to sister station KSMO-TV because the post-victory coverage took over KCTV.

Netflix will stream the first three seasons outside the United States starting February 26, 2027, under a multi-year agreement.

According to the original novel, the lead character is named after mountain man John Colter, who was connected to the Lewis and Clark expedition.

On Rotten Tomatoes, the series has an approval rating of 89%, based on 19 reviews.

CBS renewed "Tracker" for a fourth season on January 22, 2026, before the third season had even ended, and confirmed its return for the 2026–2027 television season.

The fourth season moved filming from Vancouver to Los Angeles to take advantage of a California tax credit worth $48 million.
