Once Upon a Time

Emma Swan lives alone in Boston, where she works as a bounty hunter and avoids any personal commitments. Her life takes a turn on her twenty-eighth birthday, when a ten-year-old boy approaches her and claims to be Henry, the son she gave up for adoption as a baby. Henry is convinced that his mother doesn't belong to this world but to a fairy tale kingdom, and that she is Snow White's daughter. Emma resists believing it, but the boy insists on taking her to Storybrooke, a coastal town in Maine where the residents live without remembering who they are. The series, created by Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, airs on ABC and stars Jennifer Morrison, Ginnifer Goodwin, Josh Dallas and Lana Parrilla, with Robert Carlyle in a prominent role. Its premise asks whether Emma can accept an impossible truth and how far she is willing to go to protect her son.
