Synopsis of Last Man Standing

Mike Baxter is the marketing director of Outdoor Man, a sporting goods store chain based in Denver, Colorado. Married to Vanessa and father of three daughters, he lives in a household dominated by women, which makes him the last man standing in the family. Mike firmly defends traditional and conservative values. So far, his job has involved tirelessly traveling to stock the store's catalog. When the company takes away those trips and assigns him to boost online sales through a blog, he will have to adapt to unfamiliar territory. With the help of his middle daughter, Mandy, he will try to prove he can do it. The sitcom was created by Jack Burditt and airs on ABC and Fox, with Tim Allen and Nancy Travis leading the cast.

Trivia about Last Man Standing

The series first appeared on ABC's development slate in late 2010, when Jack Burditt received a commitment from the network under a different title.

After ABC canceled the show, Fox announced a seventh season. According to the network, the official announcement came on May 11, 2018.

Molly Ephraim and Flynn Morrison did not return for the seventh season, and their characters, Mandy and Boyd, were recast before the revival.

A Change.org petition asking ABC to bring back the series topped 380,000 signatures by May 23, 2017.

During its original broadcast, the comedy averaged a 1.8 rating among adults aged 18 to 49 and 8.2 million total viewers, according to Nielsen.

Tim Allen compared being a Republican in Hollywood to "Germany in the 30s" on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, a remark that was widely criticized.

After the show was canceled by ABC and revived on Fox in 2018, the entire set had to be rebuilt, according to representatives of a studio not connected to the series.

During filming of the ninth season, the series maintained a live audience through 18 paid audience members, each seated in an individual plexiglass booth to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission.
