Christina Moore was born in Palatine in 1973 and honed her craft on musical theater stages before setting foot in Los Angeles. Her entry into the industry was no stroke of luck; it rested on sheer persistence through auditions for series that are now TV classics.
In 1998, she landed a role on Hyperion Bay. The series didn't last long, but it got casting directors to note her name for recurring supporting roles that work well under pressure.
Comedy set her rhythm.
In 2003, she took on the most challenging task of her early career when she replaced Lisa Robin Kelly on That '70s Show. Playing Laurie Forman meant stepping into a well-oiled machine where audiences already loved the previous actress. Moore chose not to imitate her and instead brought a different energy, sharper and less erratic.
She appeared in sketches on MADtv from 2002 to 2003, proving that comedic timing was her strength. But cable television gave her the stability that Hollywood denied her on the big screen, through long-running roles.
She played Candy Sullivan on Hawthorne from 2009 to 2011. On that medical drama she shared the set with Jada Pinkett Smith and learned how executive producing worked from the inside while the cameras kept rolling.
And the focus changed completely.
Moore didn't want to wait for the phone to ring with offers for supporting roles on by-the-book procedurals. In 2012, she married actor and screenwriter John Ducey, and together they built their own production company tied to ESX Entertainment.
Her strategy focused on mid-budget films with a guaranteed return on investment for investors. In 2014, she produced and starred in The Wrong Side of Right, launching a phase where creative control mattered more than fame on the red carpet.
Netflix took a close look at her business model.
In 2020, she premiered A California Christmas. She didn't just act; she also served as executive producer on a shoot that faced the global logistical restrictions of that period. The movie hit number one on the platform within just one week.
She repeated the formula in 2021 with the sequel A California Christmas: City Lights and in 2022 with That's Amor. These productions are shot in record time, usually on a budget that does not exceed five million dollars per project.
In 2024, Moore kept her screen presence alive through nostalgia TV with brief appearances on That ’90s Show. Her main focus remains the office at ESX Entertainment, where she manages shooting schedules and international distribution contracts.
The company's catalog includes more than fifteen titles distributed on streaming platforms under exclusive licensing deals.
