Synopsis of That '70s Show

Set in Point Place, a fictional town in Wisconsin, in 1976, Eric Forman, his girlfriend Donna Pinciotti, and their friends Jackie, Kelso, Hyde, and Fez live day to day convinced that every detail matters. Their routine revolves around disco music, flashy clothes with bell-bottom pants, and afternoons in Eric's basement, where they smoke marijuana amid jokes, sarcasm, and plenty of irony. They want to enjoy their youth without complications or guilt, though their carefree attitude clashes with what the adults around them expect. The series was created by Mark Brazill, Bonnie Turner, and Terry Turner and airs on FOX. Topher Grace, Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher, Danny Masterson, Laura Prepon, and Wilmer Valderrama lead the cast.

Trivia about That '70s Show

Mila Kunis lied about her age to land the role of Jackie Burkhart. She was 14 years old, even though the show required its actors to be 18.

Fox rejected "Feelin' All Right" for not being memorable enough. Bonnie Turner proposed the final title, predicting that audiences would end up calling the show by its period setting anyway.

With its eight seasons and 200 episodes, the series is Fox's longest-running live-action sitcom, trailing only Married... with Children, though it never matched that show's ratings.

Among its 16 Primetime Emmy nominations, its only win came in 1999, when Melina Root took home the award for Outstanding Costume Design for a Series.

In August 2009, MSN Autos ranked the show's Vista Cruiser as the third-best car in television history.

Topher Grace and Ashton Kutcher wanted to leave the show during season six, but they agreed to stay one more year; afterward, FOX produced season eight without them and added the character of Randy.

In January 2023, Netflix premiered the spin-off "That ’90s Show," which brought back several characters from the original series and ran for two seasons.
