Dr. Gregory House is a brilliant, misanthropic, and unconventional doctor who heads the diagnostic department at Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital, a fictional hospital in New Jersey. His job is to figure out what illness a patient has when no other doctor can explain their symptoms. Alongside a team of young diagnosticians, House analyzes complex cases based on intuitions that often seem controversial. He doesn't respect hospital rules very much, so he frequently clashes with his colleagues and with the dean of medicine, Dr. Lisa Cuddy. His only true friend is oncologist James Wilson. The series is built on a simple premise: everyone is hiding something, and the correct diagnosis depends on uncovering those lies. Created by David Shore for Fox, it stars Hugh Laurie.
