Synopsis of Industry

Industry follows a group of recent graduates competing for a small number of permanent positions at Pierpoint & Co, a London investment bank. Among them are Yasmin Kara-Hanani, who comes from a privileged background and joins the currency exchange desk, and Harper Stern, a young woman from Binghamton, New York, whom many underestimate and who moves to the cross-products desk. Both want to prove they deserve a permanent spot, and to get one they must win over their superiors and compete with colleagues vying for the same job. The series, created by former investment bankers Mickey Down and Konrad Kay, airs on HBO and BBC Two. It stars Myha'la, Marisa Abela, and Ken Leung.

Trivia about Industry

The idea came from Jane Tranter, who wanted to find out why young graduates kept flocking to the City's finance industry after the 2008 financial crisis.

Principal photography began in June 2019 in Cardiff, Wales.

Production on the third season didn't stop during the WGA and SAG strikes, because the cast worked under the British union Equity.

Vanity Fair described the series as the "missing link" between Succession and Euphoria, referring to its second season.

Harry Lawtey left the series after the third season due to scheduling conflicts.

HBO renewed "Industry" for a fifth and final season on February 25, 2026. The fourth season drew 30% more global viewers than the third, with an average U.S. audience of 1.7 million viewers per episode.

The fourth season brought in Kiernan Shipka, Kal Penn, Charlie Heaton, Max Minghella, and Claire Forlani, among other new cast members, and premiered on January 11, 2026 with eight episodes.
